Isn’t dim question it? Well, it’s a known fact that the companies and firms on the gsa schedule are main users along with the Federal and its Agencies. Anyone who is aware of the GSA (General Services Administration) knows that the gsa schedules are the procurement vehicles to streamline the federal purchases of goods and services.

But there are companies/ firms who are on the schedule but hardly they do business through the schedule or SINs they are certified with. The reason for not able to do business with the Federal even if they are on the schedule can be as follows

· The schedule is in frozen state currently

· The bid price is not compatible to the federal standards

· The company or firm past performance is not credible.

There can be other reasons as well which in spite of the company having the gsa schedule contract is not able to perform in the Federal market.

So, the companies who are actually on their toes to get the Federal contracts are the real users of the SINs and contracts. Getting on the gsa schedule is no guarantee that the Federal contracts will be awarded to the companies and firms.

There are hundreds of schedules for thousands of goods and services and sometimes particular goods or services can be categorized for 1 or more schedule. Hence, it is important to find out details for the schedule before applying for the schedule.
